Contest entry for

Well first I started working on a drawing that originally had 26 people in it, the entire GC cast plus pets. Eventually that melted my brain so I had to stop. XD I never would have gotten it done in time for the contest so I just redrew something else. I like this one though, fiddling with the light sources was fun. c: Even though they still have a love-hate relationship with me.

So, how this ties in with summer is... I wanted a more traditional style drawing I suppose you could say. Elesis and Sieghart spending some family bonding time in a seaside home, watching the fireworks (oh sweet lord do I fail at fireworks OTL) as they kick off the summer festivities. Also some fireflies gathering around the paper lantern Sieghart is holding, adding to the scene.

I wanted it to be sort of 'relaxing' I guess you could say. Nothing funny or anything like that, but rather captivating. I always have liked scenes like that. c: Whether I failed or succeeded though is entirely up to the viewer. I'll let you guys decide.

I wanted the gems in Elesis' hair to sparkle almost as though they were the moon or water itself. I wanted both Sieghart and Elesis to have a rather inviting look as well, as if you're standing there and going to join both of them in watching the fireworks being fired off from one of the islands far away. xD

(oh and if you're wondering, the contents of that cup is Arizona Pomegranate Green Tea. Ohhh man delicious <3)
